Description
New educational building located at the corner of Venezuela Street and Josep Pla Street in the 22@ district of Barcelona, with 2 basement floors designated for parking, ground floor (PB), 7 floors above ground, and a metal pergola for installations on the roof.
Structural solutions
The below-ground floors were executed with pre-tensioned hollow core slabs, and the above-ground floors in situ, with sandwich slabs and solid unidirectional post-tensioned slabs. The vertical structure, including pillars and walls, was resolved with reinforced concrete. The triangular chamfered access was solved with a metal structure consisting of collaborate sheet metal slabs supported by a metal truss.
Foundation and containment
The foundation is solved with a concrete slab with capitals, and the perimeter containment is achieved with continuous reinforced concrete walls.
