Description
The renovation of the Hospital de la Mare de Déu de la Mercè is being carried out on different floors to adapt a building dating from the 1950s to the needs of a modern treatment programme. At bis we have collaborated in the renovation project of the ground floor and the third floor.
The renovation of the third floor converts an area of rooms into offices for administration and consultations, while on the ground floor new rooms are created for patient care and a new entrance.
The constraints of the existing structure and the architectural desire to have the maximum height led us to look for imaginative alternatives for the circulation of electrical conduits, pipes and ducts on each floor, leading to unusual schemes in which the installations circulate through false ceilings inside the offices and not through corridors, where the beams did not allow this.
The renovation of the installations is complete, allowing the spaces to be equipped with individual air-conditioning, high quality LED lighting, and electrical and telecommunications equipment for work points.
Project Location and Context
Mare de Déu de la Mercè Hospital, a historic 1950s building, undergoes a comprehensive renovation to modernize its facilities and adapt them to current treatment needs.
Third Floor Renovation
The third floor is transformed into offices for administration and consultations, optimizing space usage and improving area functionality.
Ground Floor Renovation
The ground floor is remodeled to create new patient care rooms and a renewed entrance, enhancing accessibility and service efficiency.
Imaginative Solutions for Installations
Due to structural constraints, innovative solutions are implemented for the routing of electrical conduits, piping, and ductwork, using false ceilings inside offices instead of corridors.
Comprehensive Rehabilitation of Installations
The rehabilitation includes the installation of individual air conditioning systems, high-quality LED lighting, and workstations equipped with electrical and telecommunications outlets.
