Characteristics

The floor plan layout is based on the arrangement of different pavilions separated by large outdoor courtyards, even though the façade presents a continuous perimeter appearance.

Structural design

The structural design is based on the use of reinforced concrete, specifically with the arrangement of columns and shear-wall columns (or cores) for the vertical structure, and flat bidirectional slabs (with occasional deep beams) for the horizontal structure. In other words, the structure is conceived with low ductility.

For the slabs, a system with permanent void formers using expanded polystyrene blocks (EPS) has been planned to reduce the self-weight.

Foundation

For the foundation, the technical proposal outlined in the project involves a shallow foundation system using tied footings in both directions. Foundation shafts are occasionally used to reach the load-bearing stratum.
