Xavi holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). Specialised in the design, calculation and management of MEP engineering works for building installations, he has more than 20 years of professional experience in installations consultancy.

As team leader, he has managed more than 300 projects of all architectural typologies, from housing to hospitals, hotels and offices at national and international level for both the public administration and the private market, adding a wide experience in all types of systems, especially in air conditioning systems and nearly-zero consumption buildings.

Internationally, he has led and carried out projects in countries such as Tunisia, Algeria, Azerbaijan and Switzerland.

In the course of his career, he has combined the design and analysis of MEP engineering with academic and associated activities. Since 2002 he has been an associate lecturer in MEP engineering design and final degree projects at the School of Architecture of the International University of Catalonia (UIC). He is also a member of the teaching team of the UPC's Postgraduate in Circular Economy and of various professional courses organised by the Association of Quantity Surveyors of Barcelona (APABCN), the Association of Architects of the Balearic Islands (COAIB), the Association of Industrial Engineers and the SERT school on issues related to installations and renewable energies.

He was president of the Association of Installation Consultants (ACI) for 4 years and is currently an active member.

En 2022 funda junto con David Garcia bis systems, la ingeniería de instalaciones de bis, en la que actualmente es su Director Técnico. Es miembro permanente del comité de producción y del comité de dirección de la empresa.
